Handheld 3-Scale Refractometer: °Brix or nD

Triple scale portable refractometers are designed for the fast and accurate measurement of dissolved solids concentration, salinity, and refractive index in liquid solutions. Their compact and light format allows for their use both in the laboratory and in the field, offering a versatile solution for multiple analytical and industrial applications.

These devices are presented in two main configurations: Brix version and refractive index (nD). The Brix version covers ranges of 0–42 %, 42–71 %, and 71–90 % Brix, with a precision of 0.2 %, allowing for the evaluation of the concentration of sugars and other dissolved solids in food products, beverages, and industrial solutions. For its part, the refractive index version offers intervals of 1.333–1.400, 1.400–1.470, and 1.470–1.515 nD, with a resolution of 0.0005 nD, suitable for the analysis of chemical solutions, pharmaceuticals, and technical preparations.

Operation is simple and intuitive: a few drops of the sample are placed on the prism, the cover is closed, and the instrument is pointed towards a light source to obtain the reading through the eyepiece. The result is visualized immediately, without the need for specialized training or complex maintenance.

These models do not incorporate automatic temperature compensation (No ATC), which allows their use in applications where thermal correction is not required or where work is carried out under controlled conditions. They incorporate an integrated thermometer to monitor the sample temperature, facilitating the interpretation of results.

The structure is made of aluminum, providing an optimal combination of resistance and lightness. The diopter-adjustable eyepiece allows for a clear and customized reading, while the improved optical system ensures adequate illumination for precise results.

They are supplied with a complete set of accessories that includes a padded protective case, sampling pipettes, an adjustment tool, and eye protection, guaranteeing comfort and safety during use.

These refractometers are widely used in the food industry, enology, aquaculture, quality control, research, and industrial processes, where a fast, reliable, and efficient measurement of physicochemical parameters in liquids is required.
