Graduated Glass Hydrometers
Transparent glass densimeter calibrated at 20 °C for measurement in kg/m³.
The glass hydrometer is a laboratory instrument designed for the precise determination of liquid density using the principle of flotation. Its operation is based on the variation of the instrument's equilibrium position in the fluid, which is directly related to the density of the medium.
Made of high-quality transparent glass, it offers excellent chemical resistance and stability against aggressive media, guaranteeing durability and reliability in intensive use environments. Its approximate length of 310 mm facilitates both immersion and comfortable reading of the scale.
The scale graduated in kilograms per cubic meter (kg/m³) is clearly defined, allowing for quick and accurate reading without the need for additional instrumentation. The equipment is calibrated at a reference temperature of 20 °C using distilled water, so for different conditions, temperature corrections must be applied to ensure measurement accuracy.
This instrument is widely used in chemical and biological laboratories, food, pharmaceutical, and petrochemical industries, as well as in quality control processes and educational settings.
To guarantee reliable results, it is recommended to use suitable containers that allow the hydrometer to float freely and vertically. Glass cylinders of sufficient internal diameter are the most appropriate option, ensuring correct immersion and reading without interference.
Available in multiple measuring ranges, from 600–700 kg/m³ to 1,800–2,000 kg/m³, with fine subdivisions that allow for high resolution in reading.
