The Glassco screw-cap Erlenmeyer flask is a laboratory container designed for the safe handling, mixing, heating, and storage of solutions, especially in applications where a reliable seal is required. Its screw cap system allows for an effective seal, reducing evaporation and external contamination, making it especially suitable for work involving sample preservation or liquid transport.
Made of borosilicate glass 3.3, it offers excellent chemical resistance against water, saline solutions, acids, bases, and common organic compounds, maintaining its stability under demanding conditions. It has limitations only against hydrofluoric acid and, at elevated temperatures, against strong bases or phosphoric acid. Its low coefficient of thermal expansion gives it high resistance to thermal shock, allowing its use in controlled heating processes up to approximately 500 °C without compromising the integrity of the container.
The flask complies with international standards DIN 12347, ISO 4797, and USP standard, guaranteeing dimensional precision and quality in analytical and laboratory applications. It incorporates marking via white screen printing with an identification area, facilitating manual labeling and content control during work.
Its composition, mainly based on silica with the addition of stabilizing oxides, provides a robust structure, with high hydrolytic resistance of class 1, excellent behavior against acids, and adequate response to alkaline media. Available in different volumes, this flask adapts to multiple operational needs, offering a reliable, practical, and versatile solution for daily laboratory work.
