PBT GL screw caps for laboratory bottles
GL screw caps are designed for closing laboratory bottles and containers with standard threaded necks. Manufactured from red PBT plastic, they provide high thermal resistance and are suitable for autoclave sterilisation processes.
They are available with GL14, GL18, GL25, GL32 and GL45 threads, allowing them to be used with different laboratory bottle formats. The ribbed outer surface improves grip and makes the caps easier and safer to open and close, even when wearing gloves.
Each cap is fitted with a PTFE-coated silicone sealing disc. The silicone provides elasticity and adapts to the bottle rim, while the PTFE contact surface acts as a barrier between the closure and the contents. This combination provides a leak-tight seal and helps reduce the risk of leakage, evaporation or contamination.
The caps can withstand temperatures of up to 180 °C, depending on the conditions of use, and are suitable for the storage, preparation and handling of reagents, solutions, culture media and other compatible laboratory products.
Before use, the chemical and thermal compatibility of the cap, sealing disc and container with the stored substance should be checked, taking into account its concentration, temperature and contact time.
