Handheld Salinity Refractometer

Portable refractometers for salinity analysis are optical instruments designed for the quick and precise measurement of salt concentration, relative density, and, depending on the model, Brix content in liquid solutions. The single-range version offers measurement of 0–10% salt and a density of 1.000–1.070 g/ml, suitable for basic checks. The dual-range version extends the capacity up to 0–28% salt and 0–100 ‰, allowing for more advanced salinity analysis. The triple-range version integrates measurement of 0–10° Brix, 0–28% salt, and a density of 1.000–1.070 g/ml, providing a multifunctional solution for more comprehensive applications.

Its compact and ergonomic design facilitates use both in the laboratory and in the field, without the need for specialized training. The metallic structure provides mechanical resistance and durability, while the diopter-adjustable eyepiece allows for clear and precise reading.

The procedure for use is simple: a small amount of sample is placed on the prism, the cover is closed, and the equipment is oriented towards a light source to obtain an immediate reading. Calibration is easily performed using distilled water, ensuring the instrument's accuracy.

The supply includes a padded protective case, sampling pipettes, an adjustment tool, ocular protectors, and an ergonomic grip, facilitating transport and maintenance.
