The UV/Visible Spectrophotometer model 4255 is a high-performance instrument designed for advanced analysis in the spectral range of 190 to 1100 nm, incorporating a spectral scanning function for obtaining complete curves and detailed sample analysis.
Its high-precision optical system, based on a diffraction grating and silicon photodiode detector, provides excellent stability and reproducibility. The 2 nm bandwidth guarantees high spectral resolution, suitable for demanding applications in molecular biology, biochemistry, and quality control.
The instrument allows working in absorbance, transmittance, and concentration modes, integrating advanced functions such as kinetic analysis, spectral scanning, and multi-frequency measurement.
It has independent deuterium (UV) and halogen/tungsten (visible) lamps, optimizing performance across the entire spectrum and allowing efficient control of the light source lifespan. The internal monitoring system facilitates tracking the status of the lamps.
The sample compartment accommodates up to 4 standard 10 mm cuvettes using a manual changer, allowing comparative analysis. It is supplied with 4 optical glass cuvettes and 2 quartz cuvettes, which enables working in the full UV-Vis range.
The instrument can operate autonomously thanks to its integrated software, without the need for a computer connection, although it also allows external control via MWave Basic software. It incorporates a solvent-resistant alphanumeric keyboard and a screen that displays results, curves, and data in real-time.
It includes advanced quantification functions using calibration curves (up to 10 standards) with different regression models, as well as kinetic analysis with configurable time recording.
The spectral scanning function allows selecting wavelength increments from 0.1 nm and adjustable speeds, facilitating peak detection and detailed analysis of complete spectra.
The system also incorporates date and time recording in the results, improving the traceability of the generated data.
This spectrophotometer constitutes a complete solution for laboratories requiring maximum analytical capacity, including spectral, kinetic, and quantitative studies in a single instrument.
