UV Transilluminator 312nm

The Nahita UV transilluminator model 312 is equipment designed for the visualization of nucleic acids and proteins in molecular biology and biochemistry applications. It emits ultraviolet radiation at a wavelength of 312 nm, providing optimal conditions for the observation of samples after gel electrophoresis processes.

The system incorporates four 8 W quartz lamps, each guaranteeing uniform illumination across the entire work surface. The useful area of the UV filter is 150 × 200 mm, allowing for comfortable analysis of standard-sized gels.

The equipment is equipped with a protective screen that offers high optical transmission and protects the user from ultraviolet radiation. Its adjustable design facilitates adaptation to different working angles, improving ergonomics and safety during use. Power on and off control is done through an easily accessible front switch.

This transilluminator is mainly used after the separation of molecules by electrophoresis. During this process, samples—such as DNA, RNA, or proteins—migrate through a gel matrix under the action of an electric field, separating according to their size and charge. Once the gel is stained with specific dyes, the UV radiation allows the resulting bands to be visualized, facilitating their analysis and documentation.
