The García Tena apparatus is a set of laboratory glassware designed for the determination of volatile acidity in wines through a combined process of distillation and acid-base titration.
This method allows the quantification of volatile acids, mainly acetic acid, which are responsible for organoleptic alterations such as vinegary aromas or pungent flavors in wine.
The procedure is based on the distillation of the wine after the removal of carbon dioxide, followed by the collection of distillate fractions and their subsequent analysis by titration.
All components are manufactured from borosilicate glass, which guarantees high thermal and chemical resistance. The system incorporates connections using a standard ground glass joint 14/23, ensuring precise and leak-tight assembly.
