Parafilm® M paper roll, 100mmx38 metres

Parafilm® M in a roll format of 100 mm width and 38 m length is a flexible and translucent film designed for secure sealing of containers in laboratory environments. Manufactured from a combination of polyolefins and wax, it has a thickness of 127 µm and is noted for its high malleability and elongation capacity, capable of stretching up to three or four times its original length without compromising its integrity.

Its thermoplastic and self-sealing nature allows it to easily adapt to irregular surfaces, providing an effective hermetic seal on a wide variety of containers, such as test tubes, Erlenmeyer flasks, bottles, vials, and Petri dishes. This seal prevents evaporation, moisture loss, spills, and external contamination, helping to preserve the stability of the samples.

The material offers excellent chemical compatibility against acids, alkaline solutions, gases, methanol, and most common laboratory reagents, maintaining its performance in a temperature range between -45 °C and 50 °C. Additionally, it is suitable for sterilization processes using radiation and exposure to hydrogen peroxide.

Its flexible structure allows for firm adhesion even under handling or degassing conditions, ensuring a reliable temporary seal. However, it is not designed as a permanent closure solution, as prolonged exposure to air and light can affect its properties.

Odorless, colorless, and semi-transparent, Parafilm® M does not interfere with observation or analysis, making it an essential element in healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and research laboratories that require practical, versatile, and efficient sealing solutions.
