It presents limitations only against hydrofluoric acid and, at high temperatures, against strong bases or phosphoric acid. Its low coefficient of thermal expansion gives it excellent resistance to thermal shock, allowing its use with direct heat sources or heating mantles without compromising its integrity.
The design incorporates an elongated neck and a side arm that facilitates connection to a condenser, allowing the generated vapors to be conducted to the cooling system and subsequent recovery of the distillate. This configuration enables precise control of the separation process, even in mixtures with close boiling points.
With an approximate base diameter of 131 mm, a neck of 34 mm, and a total height of 300 mm, along with a side arm of 8 mm diameter and 200 mm length, this flask presents an optimized geometry for its integration into laboratory setups.
