The porcelain Büchner funnel is an essential instrument for fast and efficient filtration in the laboratory, especially when used in combination with vacuum systems.
Manufactured from high-quality porcelain —composed of clay, quartz, and feldspar—, it offers excellent chemical and thermal resistance, ensuring durability and reliability in demanding applications.
Its design incorporates a perforated plate that allows the placement of filter paper, facilitating the separation of solid-liquid phases with high efficiency. For optimal results, it is recommended to use filter paper adjusted to the internal diameter of the funnel, especially in the case of fine particles.
The funnel is designed for use together with a Kitasato flask and a vacuum source, such as a vacuum pump or water aspirator, which significantly speeds up the filtration process compared to gravity methods.
It presents high thermal resistance, withstanding temperatures of up to 1350 °C in unglazed porcelain and up to approximately 1100 °C on glazed surfaces, maintaining its structural integrity even under intensive working conditions.
