Silica Gel for Desiccator

Desiccant silica gel with chromatic indicator is designed for dehydration and humidity control applications in laboratory environments, technical storage, and the conservation of sensitive materials. It comes in a 2–5 mm granular format, offering a high active surface area that allows for efficient water vapor absorption.

Manufactured from silicon dioxide, this material stands out for its highly porous structure, which gives it a remarkable capacity for moisture retention. Its formulation is cobalt chloride-free, making it a safer and more suitable option for applications where minimizing risks associated with toxic compounds is required.

The chromatic indication system allows for visual monitoring of the product's saturation status. It initially displays an orange hue that progressively evolves towards greenish tones as it absorbs moisture, making it easier to identify the optimal time for its regeneration.

The material is reusable through thermal treatment in a dry air oven, with a maximum recommended temperature of 110 °C. This process allows the retained moisture to be eliminated and its desiccant properties to be restored, enabling multiple cycles of use and optimizing its economic performance.

It is especially suitable for use in desiccators, storage cabinets, laboratory equipment, and systems where low humidity conditions are required, contributing to the preservation of samples, reagents, and hygroscopic materials.
